“Goods? I’m not a store and I’m not a pirate.” the term just flew right over his head; it was one of his not-so-rare “blonde” moments.

Billie knew from the tone of her sister’s voice how bad it had really been. Tommie was always so strong, so brave, taking care of her lesser twin, but she didn’t have to look deep to see how very damaged the speedster was. Her arms went tight around Tommie, her fingers combing back snowy hair. “Shh, it’s okay. You don’t have to be scared anymore. You’re home now, you’re safe with Bee.” Her throat tightened almost painfully.

Tommie nodded and stifled a yawn.

“You weren’t scared here on your own, were you?” was the soft question, her fingertips holding a handful of Billie’s shirt tightly.

The mage kissed Tommie’s hair gently, relaxing a little as Tommie calmed somewhat. “I was fine, sweetie. I kept myself busy fixing the bed and watching TV and stuff. Try to rest, okay? I’ll be here, I promise.”

Tommie’s breathing was already getting shallower and within moments she was falling asleep against the other, curling in tighter within their cocoon.

“you’re all I’ve got. All I’ve ever had, Bee Bee. So hard here without you.” Tommie’s voice got softer, and she tugged the other tight against her. “Just lay here with me a while?”

Billie bit her lip, nodding a little as she crawled onto the sagging sofa. Mentally she noted this would be the next thing she ‘fixed’, as she tugged a blanket over them both to keep Tommie warm. “Will do. ‘s okay, sis. I’ve gotcha.”

Tommie brought her in close, suddenly feeling like the first time she’d entered the facility- nine years old and alone.

She could remember the day she first saw Billie. It would be a week until she actually came face to face but the first time she saw the brunette, she was bloodied and on the floor. Sitting up into a curled up ball position, she’d turned her head and through the glass saw a dark haired girl being led down the hall. Making eye contact, she kept it for as long as the girl was visible.

Coming face to face had been like a dream. There was glass separating them but up close it was as if she were looking in a mirror. A less scarred, darker version of herself. She reached out and placed a hand on the glass, everything drawing her to the other. And then they were shoved into the same room. When her hand touched Billie’s face, it was the first human touch she’d had that wasn’t to ‘train’, ‘test’ or otherwise abuse her in seven years.

She knew Billie was special. From that moment, she just knew.

And Billie was the only one she let herself be… complete around.

“It was scary. Like facility scary.” She whispered, voice soft. Billie got her soft voice, because she loved Bee. Only Bee. “Wanted to come home.” Home was wherever her twin was. Curling up close, she buried her face against the brunette. She was always strong for Billie, but if she was to break it would only be with Bee. No one else. Bee was everything, and the rare occasions she would was reserved for times like these.
